A couple of you asked for Mr's mom's tutorial on how to fix deviled eggs.
I'll share her instructions with you, but I'll warn you as she warned me: "I just do a little of this and a little of that. I don't really measure some things."
So, without any further ado...
CCB's No Measure Deviled Eggs

(That's Mr's Dad & Mom..aren't they cute?)
Boil a dozen eggs, and peel. Slice lengthwise and scoop out each yolk into a processor.
Using a teaspoon, add about 6 dollops of mayonnaise.
Choose either Dijon or regular yellow mustard (we used yellow) and add around 1 tablespoon. She used the squeezey kind and just squeezed a few times around the processor! haha!
Add around 1 tablespoon of pickle relish.
Blend (or just mash in a bowl if you don't want to use the processor) until creamy.
We just filled a ziplock bag and snipped off the end for a quick way to fill the egg halves.
Fill 'em up!
Then, we sprinkled a little paprika on top! Yum!
p.s. we had a little of the egg filling left over and it was really good on a slice of toast!

Now onto the Search for the Holy Grail. Otherwise known as helping Little Miss find a gown for The Fillies Derby Ball.
She was a 2008 Kentucky Derby Festival Princess, and this year she's going as a guest and bringing her new boyfriend (apparently it's "official.") Mr and I received an invite, but we just couldn't make it this year. I did, however, make it to about every store in the Bluegrass that didn't carry just-the-right-dress. About an hour after we "stopped in" one store, Little Miss had twenty gowns draped over one arm. Nevermind her apparent arms of steel. She was in the zone, and I was powerless to remove her from it. She was thisclose to buying four dresses so that she could have a choice. "I can return the other three that I don't choose." Then, a stroke of genius. She asked them to hold all four so that she could return with shopping reinforcement. So. One princess, one sister, and two friends later? *cue angels singing* She found it! A very classy, green, long gown. I'll have to post pictures after the event!
In the meantime, here are a few pictures from this time last year during the Kentucky Derby Events

I got to be Little Miss' "mom" for the Mother/Daughter Tea, since Mom was in Savannah.

I even got to try on one of the crowns and pretend for a little bit!

Dad & Mom danced the night away!
Hope y'all have had a wonderful Wednesday, and that you enjoyed all the Kentucky Derby Festival pictures! I'll post more as it gets closer to that first Saturday in May!
