This time next week

sj_old_san_juan_nightSan Juan, Puerto Rico

Mr & I will be here!  We are staying a couple nights in San Juan before we head out on a cruise of  Aruba, Curacao, Dominica, St. Thomas…  I cannot wait!  We’re calling this our “Beach Honeymoon.”  We went to New York City for what we called our “Mini-moon” after our wedding—it was Amazing!  However, we knew that we wanted to also have that beachy, hot, sandy, tropical honeymoon too!  So, I feel like we’re getting the best of both worlds!

Have any of you spent time in Puerto Rico?  I’ve never been, but I’ve spent time scoping out the travel channel to seek out the “must-sees!”  I’d love to hear any of your suggestions!

One stop that I know we’ll have to make is to La Bombonera in Old San Juan.  It’s apparently the best coffee & pastries around, and it’s been run by the same family since 1902!  I’m so excited to try their “Mallorca”-which is a doughy roll covered in powdered sugar and filled with all kinds of yumminess (like egg, cheese, ham for breakfast!)  And, isn’t it cute?  I am loving the brightly painted buildings!oldsanjuan

Also, the shopping is supposed to be great!  Just imagine wandering the streets here.  Window shopping would may have to take a back seat to simply checking out the scenery!  Oooh!  I can’t wait to take my own pictures to share!

Oh wow! I envy you...seriously! I am dying to get away at a fun beachy destination lately...It sounds perfect. <3 You two have fun and I'm curious to see which spot is your favorite. By the way, "minimoon" is a CUTE name.

I dropped over from Libby's blog. Your wedding photos are gorgeous. I like the idea to spend another beach-honeymoon. I wish you a wonderful time down in puerto rico.

Hey Mandy! Brian and I went to Puerto Rico for part of our honeymoon and I would say one of the best places to visit was the old fort that overlooks the water. Sunset is the best time for pictures!
